Measurement:

Determine the required length from the front edge of the first step to the front edge of the landing - either at a height of approx. 90 cm or on the string of the stairs.

For half- and quarter-spiral staircases, measure from the first step to the corner and subtract approx. 10 - 12 cm from the length/corner to prevent the handrails from colliding. For two corners, subtract 20 - 24 cm from the total length.

Assembly:  You can find our assembly videos under the tab "Assembly" as well as in the categories.

FAQ - Stained Handrails

What does it mean when a handrail is stained? +

Staining refines the color of the wood without hiding its natural structure. The grain remains visible but appears lighter, warmer, or darker depending on the stain tone. This creates a handrail that matches the room's color exactly while still looking like real wood.

Which wood types and stain tones are available for stained handrails? +

Stained handrails here are made from beech or ash because both woods are stable, durable, and visually very uniform. For beech, there are many stain tones available, such as ebony, mahogany, teak variants, light or rustic oak, dark walnut, or cherry. This allows you to perfectly coordinate the handrail with the floor, furniture, or stair color.

Are stained handrails also suitable for outdoor use? +

No, stained handrails made of beech or ash are intended for indoor use only. Both wood types react sensitively to moisture and weather outdoors. For outdoors, more robust woods like pine or oak in raw or oiled finishes are the better choice.

What shapes, lengths, and diameters can I choose for a stained handrail? +

You can choose between profiles such as round, omega, or square with rounded edges. The length is freely adjustable between 10 cm and 450 cm, in one piece if desired. For round handrails, several diameters are available, ensuring the grip fits optimally depending on the user group.

How do I measure the correct handrail length and what is important for installation? +

Measurements are taken from the front edge of the first step to the front edge of the landing, usually at a height of about 90 cm or along the stair stringer. For winding stairs, some length is deducted at corners so the handrails do not collide. Installation is carried out depending on the situation with suitable wall brackets or, if desired, including accessories, so that the handrail sits securely and stably.
